The first Great Barrow Walk got off to a fantastic start with 130 walkers on the first day. The weather was excellent for the full 4 days so there were plenty of red cheeks to match the feet!
Thanks to St John Ambulance who did a great job together with the Spitfire grill and the Weeping Willow bar. Special thanks to our live band ‘Exigent’ who entertained us all (free of charge) on the Saturday night when most people forgot about their feet and danced!
Teresa Morey, our professional Photographer took photos during the full 4 days. You can see (and purchase) these via the following link near the bottom that says “Barrow Walk” – Visit my blog:

We are pleased to announce that this year we raised £5,512.50 for help for heroes. The cheque will be presented to our patron Colonel David Turner at 1pm on 6th November 2009, in the grounds of The Academy. We have an Apache attack helicopter there for a photo shoot. Everyone welcome
